The currently trending ALS ice bucket challenge which has gone viral with the crazy concept of dumping yourself with bucket full of ice and water to raise awareness about ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
It is coined after Henry Louis Gehrig who was the baseball's first baseman and played in several major league baseball seasons but his career ended after he was struck with ALS disorder and later died 2 years later. Well since then ALS was known but not to everyone, it's like only those who suffer from it know about it.
ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Celebrity Fails Compilation
The currently trending ALS ice bucket challenge started with one man Pete Frates who ironically used to be a baseball star. But unfortunately his career ended because of ALS who currently is just confined to a wheelchair and can hardly talk properly but yet never gave up and took upon the task of raising awareness so that together everyone can eliminate ALS by finding a cure.
Pete Frates apparently was involved in lots of ALS awareness campaigns during his previous stages of the disease where he was able to walk but things kept getting worse.
That is when he found the tremendous will to fight the ALS with the support of his girlfriend who married him despite knowing the fact that he has ALS and now is a proud father all thanks to his supportive girlfriend.
Celebrities take on Ice Bucket Challenge Compilation
Things started to turn in Pete's favor when golfer Chris Kennedy challenged his cousin Jeanette Senerchia whose husband has had ALS for 11 years and in the process Pete's family and friends circle came to know about this Ice bucket challenge as Pete's family and friends decided to take the challenge for Pete's sake and move it forward to raise awareness about ALS and the rest was history!From celebrities like Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, Shakira, Ben Affleck, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and many more, More than a million families and celebrities took the challenge
These challengers did both the donation and the challenge including numerous sports teams and athletes as the ALS Association received about $23 million in donations
All thanks to kind hearted people out there who donated generously and forwarded the challenge simultaneously to raise awareness among others to do the same.
