Man's best friend, Dogs are truly a blissful gift from heaven and why only dogs, almost all the pets play a vital role in brightening your day , doesn't matter if you are sick or had a bad day a small glimpse at these beautiful creatures brings a smile on our face making us forget all the bad and tough times for that moment. It was a similar case with 16 year old teen Anthony Lyon from Arizona who unfortunately was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia a type of blood cancer. Anthony was admitted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in early July 2014 where doctors told Anthony that the type of cancer he has is treatable and with regular chemotherapy sessions regularly for 3 years can get Lyon back on track while he finishes his High school during his long fight against cancer. Apparently as we all know battle against cancer is a tough one and often requires lots of support especially after those stressful chemotherapy sessions where the patient feels incredibly down and weak especially when it's a long stay at the hospital. It was the same with Lyon as well but it was the blissful pet therapy after the chemo sessions that brightened the day for Anthony. Anthony says only time his mood improves are during visits from hospital's therapy dogs, who are so happy and just want to see you bringing a smile to everyone's face they meet.

Apparently the therapy dogs didn't use to visit Lyon everyday and only on those week days or those tough monthly chemotherapy sessions. So Anthony's family and friends decided to start an online campaign for Anthony so that he gets to

have virtual visits from dogs from around the world. So Roberta Lucero-Koron a family friend of the Lyon's family started a Facebook event page for Lyon that is "Photo Doggies for Anthony" where people can post their pet dog photos along with their best wishes which Anthony can watch whenever he wants. Anthony's mother Kristen Lyons recalls that outpouring of support that first started with 100-200 dog photos per day and then thousands and now it has reached a million plus mark with dog photos being posted by people from around the world with encouraging messages for the sick teen along with wishes from their pet animals which included several dog breeds including huskies, pit bulls, labs, corgis, Chihuahuas and the list goes. It weren't just dogs but cats and several other pet owners who wished Anthony tremendous support and brightened his day with their pet photos. Anthony's favorite dog breed being the pooleys, Lyon happily replied to all the support he was getting that each one of them made his smile and the fact that none of them know him tremendously moved him making his spirit stronger and stronger day by day.
